Finally! I have been so eager to get this last year done. Maybe the end of each year is exactly the same. We tend to think of the things we want to let go and forget and start over. ~grins~ But for me, I was busy busy busy and this year is promising to be much calmer. I’m excited about it. I have been thinking about my list of goals and things I want for the new years. I’m still working on my list and may edit this later today. I think it’s high time I say what I want and put a bit more expectation on it. Gosh that feels awesome to say! LOL
Anyway, I will be here to help ring in the New Year. It’s snowing here now with some icky winds and surely nothing the east coast hasn’t suffered through already. So glad I moved out of Chicago!! November flew past. I was so busy with projects I didn’t have much time for anything. As you know, my family and I usually do a lot of cooking from September through December and have projects in between. Last month, we managed to get 210 Thanksgiving meals cooked, prepared and delivered to the homeless. My house felt like a cafeteria food line, only without the people. We formed an assembly line of sorts and filled hot food boxes with tons of Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatos, gravy and apple crisp. Needless to say, by the time we were done, none of us wanted Turkey for our own Holiday meal. We had Ham and Lamb ~laughs~
Let me back up a bit…before the final meal assembly, we did much of the cooking in the prior couple weeks. Four Turkeys a week, deboned, rolled and roasted. Then they were popped into the freezer until we were ready. We cooked 16 birds all totalled.
In the midst of that, I went to Denver for a lil trip. I hooked up with Maddy, one of my CD/crossdressers, and took her to Studio Lites where she got a facial makeover! We did some shopping for a new outfit too. She was so fun to watch! Took her to Catherines and instead of just picking things off the shelf to take home and try on, a sales girl came up to help us and I tossed poor Maddy under the bus. She was adorable in her make-up, dress, heels, and her new purse. She was treated just like a Lady should be and loved it. Watching her finally get to experience it fully was really wonderful. Good for you Maddy!!
Now in between all that, I was getting ready for the Annual Christmas Craft show at one of the local High Schools. Tons of things were being made and some we never even got to so umm…I’m having a home show the weekend of the 17th, 18th, and 19th. I will be doing some calls after 4 PM each day so please bear with me. My house will be full of people coming to do last minute shopping. I have to make more Fudge, I sold out at the show!

I have had some “me time” and calmed way down since my last post. I re-read it and did a bit more reflecting. Every time I look at my house, I’m thrilled to death with how good it looks. That I must truly thank my friend for doing. While I may not have approved of his methods or his nonchalance regarding the cost of things, the job DID get done and I’m happy. I also realize I’m a rather precise individual in many ways. I try to be relaxed and let things roll off but I’m unable to tame that part of my personality. I set about getting things planned out and expect them to go accordingly and we all know how well that works…LOL. I still maintain that “company and fish both stink after 3 days” as my grandmother would often tell me. Doesn’t matter who they are or how much you love them. But all in all, I’m grateful for the completion of my house. Thank you.
This is the weekend my family and I will be putting together the meals for the homeless. Sixteen turkeys have been de-boned, cooked and frozen, ready to be sliced for the dinners. We estimate that we should be able to do at least 175 people this year. Dinners include mashed potato’s and gravey, stuffing, Turkey and apple/cranberry crisp. We will be delivering them either late Sunday night to the Mission or very very early Monday morning. Needless to say, its keeping us busy!! On top of all that, we have a craft show first weekend of December we are getting ready for. I still have to make the fudge, bird ornaments, and bath bombs. I completed the Angels and Poinsettias!
I have also made two special Sissy nighties and I have a client who is interested in them. I’m excited with the new project of sewing custom made clothing for both the Crossdresser’s, Sissy’s and the AB’s. Now as if that isn’t enough to keep me busy, I have been dragging my feet with my class as all of you know. But the other day I tackled it again and submitted it f0r grading. I expected at least a 50% fail rate on it but to my surprise…I got 100% accurate!! I was so excited!! So with that hurdle out of the way, I have been tackling my studies again with a renewed vigor. Wish me luck.

I have taken this past week just to enjoy my solitude again. As I mentioned before, I had many things going on that needed my attention. More than I had planned. An old friend came out in October to spend some time with and to paint my house. I was going to wait but he said he loves doing that kind of work and if I paid for his ticket out, he would handle it. Two things come to mind here now…..
1. Never let a friend do that big a job for you.
2. Never let ANYONE stay with you longer than a week.
That being said, you can guess that the duration of the job was much too long. By the time the house was done (Oct. 29th and he arrived on the 1st), I was ready to kill. The weather had changed to much cooler by end of the month and I TOLD him that was going to happen but he blew off several nice days initially because “he didn’t feel like it”. ~sighs~ Scaffolding I had rented because we would only need it one week stretched out to three. His total non-chalance about the money I was spending irritated me. The man wanted me to put composite board up along the roof edges. After all, it’s only a few bucks. Is he nuts?! I put my foot down and cedar was installed by my fantastic GC, Chris.
I watched him sit in the sun in the backyard taking a nap while Chris, myself and other family members were here working our asses off. I kept thinking that if I buried him under the rock pile in the front yard, no one would really know and he would be a good prop for my Halloween party but I restrained myself. I seriously doubt if our friendship can be salvaged at this point.
I think the thing that gets me the most is we both have changed a lot. 15 years ago we hung out on the beach all day long and had a blast all summer long. We were thick as thieves. But time moves on and I grew up. He just grew older. I’m not his momma and I don’t expect to take care of him. I have learned that I am a demanding woman with expectations from men in how they behave and treat women.
My only saving grace was the phone sex calls I got from all of you. While admittedly, they fell off some because I was not able to communicate regularly online or by posting due to the havoc here, those that did call kept me sane. Thank you! I was reminded last night that I owe a post or two as follow-up on my ~coughs~ Margaritaville experiences. Never heard from Keith again by the way (which is a good thing). Mike was my second date. Recently I read something that really frustrated me. I let it go for a bit because honestly, I wanted to be sure I thought this out carefully. It’s tough when you are in a business that every word you say must be cautious so as not to bore or offend. I awoke early again today..4 AM to be exact. It was cold and I closed all the windows except one. The window is stuck for some reason..no, not some reason but because when I moved in, I had a vinyl framed picture window installed and the guy who did it, didn’t square it properly. So now with the cold weather change, it’s binding. My shoulder is still too sore to move break it loose and move it. ~sighs~ Just pisses me off. I hate things done half-assed. I also have the plumber coming back out this morning because it was made painfully clear to me yesterday, that the job to fix the drain on the bath-tub didn’t work. The ceiling downstairs is totally fucked up.
Besides that lil irritant, I had a pretty nice weekend. I wanted to go to the Balloon festival in COS but missed it. I had been planning this for months! It opened Friday but I figured give it a day to get some momentum. Saturday was going to be the first full day and so I had planned on Sunday morning after a breakfast date……which somehow got moved to 11:30 AM. ~rolls my eyes~ So by the time I got done with that, it was already 93 degrees and I wasn’t going to try and wander the park in that heat and fight for a parking space. So I opted for Monday and left in good time, but they were already breaking down the park. So I missed it! I had considered drowning myself in a few glasses of wine but veto’d that idea. I hate hang overs.

Four weeks and my shoulder is finally healing a bit. It still has its testy moments but all in all, it’s better. It has to be. I have too much work to do and it’s slowing me down. After some conversation, Keith and I made plans to do some shopping (antique) and then have lunch in one of the small towns close by that has a great Margaritas and food. So …I’m going to share a lesson with you guys that my Uncle taught me. When you ask a woman out, it’s because you want to spend time with her. There are no promises or expectations of sex except in your mind. YOU are paying for the opportunity to just spend time with her and show her the best time you can and maybe, she will want to see you again. Do NOT send naked pics of yourself before your first date. Do not hide things like a marriage or 14 kids….be honest and stop plotting to get laid. If she likes how you treat her, she might accept another date with you and then maybe more later.
Now I was curious what had happened with this dating fiasco and asked some guy friends I have. One guy told me “all men are dogs”. Sorry, I don’t think that is a good enough excuse. LOL. I like my Uncle’s advice. When you take me to dinner, it’s to show me you want to spend time with me…not to get in my pants and I don’t owe you anything. Time for men to step up and stop being “dogs “as my friend says.
