Christmas was a whirl wind and honestly, I had a lot of fun but I’m glad it’s over! My party was a success and everyone rolled out of here happy and content with bulging tummies. It was just a thought that crossed my mind and here I thought I was being “deep”. What I did find out was that I’m well read. T.S. Elliot coined that phrase but it’s one that seems to fit these days. T.S. said “Success is relative. It is what we can make of the mess we have made of things.” I firmly believe that if we all stick together and reach out where ever we can, we will be successful in our own right. I finally got through November with all the projects I had going. Mom and I managed to cook and prepare 150 meals for the Mission this year. Twelve turkeys! To top that off, they had such good deals on the price of them, we bought 7 more for us. We just finished getting them all prepared for the freezer and if I ever see turkey again, it will be too soon!

Hmm…now you may be wondering what the hell I’m talking about. But there is such a thing! Now an avid Looner just loves everything having to do with balloons and that includes rubbing them, popping, color and more. I give up on schedules, lists, plans, and best intentions. They don’t work. Someone or something always gets me off track and then its over with. No hope of recovering my plans…LOL. I am leaving for Albuquerque on Oct. 2nd and won’t be back until 5th. Maybe the 6th but early so we will see. This time of year is very busy for us with the harvest season.
I made my liquor too! I made cranberry, orange, plum, and blueberry so far. I still have to do pomegranite but need to wait until they are in season. It should be ready by Christmas.
The neighbor across the street brought me a whole bunch of venison. Made me think about that deer in my backyard a whole new way…LOL. Anyway, he gave me a large smoked summer sausage (no wise cracks), Antelope Sausage and lots of venison which I promptly made jerky out of. It turned out fantastic! I also grilled the tenderloin in medallion cuts with bacon around them, soaked in BBQ sauce. They were soooo good.
I still have tons to do for the Craft show coming up on the 17th of October but its coming along nicely. I also started working on things for my Nursery site! For those interested, you can read about it there.
The weather bottomed out here about 4 days ago. We actually got snow! Nothing stuck but it was depressing to see those flakes coming down. By this weekend, its going to be in the 80′s again. Amazing huh.
